Welcome to Episode 15 of our wrestling podcast Chat Grapple and Cheap Pops!! We are Chris Dread and Jordan (JB) In Episode 15 we review WWF Backlash From 1999. This event was at the Height of the time when the WWF had managed to claw back the fans after the Monday Night Wars with WCW and it was flying high. The 2 superstars in the main event were at this time, at the very top of the business....Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock. The undercard was also full of good matches and stars. There was a Hardcore Title Match, an absolutely BRUTAL Boiler Room Brawl, The Brood, The Ministry, and The Ho Train!! There was also an ongoing feud between members of the McMahon family that would also feature in the event. Welcome to Episode 14 of our wrestling podcast Chat Grapple and Cheap Pops!! We are Chris Dread and Jordan (JB) In Episode 14 we review WCW and their first ever Superbrawl event! Its 1991 and WCW are just on the back of the Japan Supershow in Tokyo, and This Superbrawl show had the tagline "Return from the rising sun" This event had a few good matches (and some not so good) but was dominated by the Pro Wrestling Illustrated Match of the year 1991, a Tag Team match featuring the teams of Sting and Lex Luger Vs The Steiner Brothers. This event has tobacco chewing cowboys spanking Missy Hyatt, Computers dictating matches, a man with 2 bears, and another man dressed as a wizard with a monkey on his shoulder....what more could you possibly want? Its a good show that had its ups and downs. The Rumble itself was quite slow until the fantastic finale and the Main event between Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker was brilliant. The Main event was to be a match the the Heartbreak Kid would remember forever, and not for good reasons. A great PPV with some fantastic matches, but unfortunately it had one of the messiest main events we've ever seen. Despite the under par main event, this event had some really great matches including a great opener featuring DDP and johnny B badd and a fantastic history making Japanese women's tag match. Welcome to Episode 11 of our wrestling podcast Chat Grapple and Cheap Pops!! We are Chris Dread and Jordan (JB) In Episode 11 we review The WWF Survivor Series 1991 The Gravest Challenge. This was the 5th annual Survivor Series and was followed by the event titled Tuesday In Texas which was referenced multiple times during the event. It was one of the very few WWF events that starred Ric Flair and it also had the title match between Hulk Hogan and The Undertaker. The Immortal One Vs The Dead Man. Hence the tagline The Gravest Challenge. It also features heavily the feud between Randy Savage and Jake The Snake and covers in detail the infamous Cobra Bite incident. Welcome to Episode 10 of our wrestling podcast Chat Grapple and Cheap Pops!! We are Chris Dread and Jordan (JB) In Episode 10 we review WCW Spring Stampede 2000. Probably one of the most hectic and high paced WCW ever! This PPV was at a time when the NWO were done and dusted, and the creative minds of Eric Bischoff and Vince Russo tried something different to try and boost ratings and buyrates to what they were during the NWO boom. This PPV was the beginning of the New Blood VS The Millionaires Club era. All Title belts were vacated and new champions would be crowned at this event, Spring Stampede 2000. We really enjoy this PPV, and we have a laugh and a joke about its quirkiness. It may not be the best PPV ever, but it was massively entertaining for sure.
