WCW Greed from 2001, just 5 DAYS before they were purchased by Vince McMahon and the WWF. The company was in a complete mess at this point and this event is pretty much proof of that. It does have some good matches, but what it lacks in quality it makes up for in nostalgia. Being WCWs last ever PPV, it was a sad end to an amazing era of ground breaking wrestling that came out of the WCW, who would beat the WWF in the ratings for 83 weeks, and would change the face of professional wrestling forever. Wrestlemania 5 was the biggest grossing event for many years for the WWF. This was due to the HUGE angle of the Mega Powers, Hulk Hogan and Macho Man, splitting up and having a showdown and their manager Elizabeth being caught in the middle of the feud. This was a HUGE draw. The Great Bobby Heenan is all over this event too, along with Jessie Ventura and Mean Gene. It has the good, the bad, and the ugly but we loved looking back and giving our thoughts on the whole thing. Welcome to Episode 26 of our wrestling podcast Chat Grapple and Cheap Pops!! We are Chris Dread and Jordan (JB) In Episode 26 we review WCW Capital Combat, The Return of Robocop. This was during the NWA years of WCW. This event has many wrestlers that would appear in the World Wrestling Federation not too long after this. They would leave for a multitude of reasons but at this time, WCW was not at its greatest. This PPV however did have some great moments. The Midnight Express, The 4 Horsemen and Sid Vicious In a Tuxedo, and of course the wonderful Woman accompanying Ric Flair. This event also has the guest appearance of the one and only Robocop, who would be Stings protector as he recovers from surgery. It has its ups and downs, but this event is well worth a watch.
